Sheffield born rapper Assa has a distinctive flow and the charisma to match. Raised by the shores of Blackpool and now living in and representing Manchester. Assa got in to hip hop at a young age listening to Busta Rhymes, Biggie, Tupac and anything he could get my grubby little hands on.
He met Jay Madden at high school and became close friends as they were both trying to get a demo together, in fact they used to record lyrics on an old alarm clock with a built in microphone, now that’s primitive. Assa knew Mic Dyson and Goldrush from around his ends and met Foola at uni, he pulled the group together and founded Primitive Form.
Primitive form started to gain recognition around Blackpool and that quickly spread into Manchester, soon they were supporting the likes of Rahzel, Skinnyman, Klashneckoff and Dj Premier and became regulars at a local hip hop night called Battle Scars. Due to unforeseen circumstances primitive form split and began to focusing on solo projects.
Assaman has recently become a father and a proud one at that, and has had to push his album back a few months to spend time with his family.
The wait is now over and his debut album Everyday user will be released April 09.
Everyday user has been long awaited and has already gained big interest from Disorder at Suspect Packages. (Check Feb Suspect Radio show)
